Question 1075493: Which equation can be used to find two numbers such that twice the first equals three times the second and three times their difference exceeds twice the second by 13? Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let m and n be your two numbers. Then 2m=3n, and 3(m-n)-13=2n. So:
2m=3n
m=3n/2
3(m-n)-13=2n
3m-3n-13=2n
9n/2-3n-13=2n
-n/2=13
-n=26
n=-26
m=-39. ☺☺☺☺
