.
Take off 8 quarters from your collection (mentally, of course).

Then you will have new (updated) collection which is worth $4.20 consisting of EQUAL number of dimes and quarters.

Can you solve this simplified problem on your own ?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
q quarters
d dimes

The description literally gives system%28q-d=8%2C0.25q%2B0.1d=6.2%29

Simplifying that system: system%285q%2B2d=124%2Cq-d=8%29

The q-d=8 is the same as 2q-2d=16;

%285q%2B2d%29%2B%282q-2d%29=124%2B16
highlight_green%28q=20%29

You find d for dimes quantity.
