You can put this solution on YOUR website! Sailors traditionally measure speed in knots, or nautical miles per hour. A nautical mile is based on the circumference of the earth, and 1 nautical mile=1.15 mile. If a ship is traveling at 15 nautical miles per hour, how fast is it going in miles per hour? What about in feet per second? =================================================
 a) 15 nauts/hr * 1.15mi/naut = 17.25 mi/hr
 b) 17.25 mi/hr * 5280 ft/mi * (1hr/3600s) = 25.3 ft/sec
