Either the signs of the values of 5y-2 and 4y+7 are the same or they are opposite. Solve for BOTH cases, and test if either of the results does or does not work in the original equation.

1) Drop absolute-value bars and solve like you do any regular equation.
   You should get: highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C3%2C+y%2C+%22=%22%2C+9%29%29


2) Drop absolute-value bars on RIGHT side, and NEGATE LEFT-SIDE, or drop absolute-value bars on LEFT side, and NEGATE RIGHT-SIDE. 
   Solve to get: highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C3%2C+y%2C+%22=%22%2C+-+5%2F9%29%29
