You can put this solution on YOUR website!
l = p+2
0.37l+0.88p = 4.49
substitute for l:
0.37(p+2)+0.88p = 4.49
0.37p+0.74+0.88p = 4.49
add p on left and subtract 0.74 from both sides
1.25p = 3.75 divide both sides by 1.25
p = 3
l = 3+2 = 5
---------------------
Check
3 x 0.88 + 5 x 0.37 = 4.49 Correct

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the number of letters mailed.
0.37x+%2B+0.88%28x-2%29=4.49
1.25x-1.76=4.49
1.25x=6.25
x=5
