Try getting the numerals (numbers) and the variables (y) by themselves. Note: At least write down solve or something and not just the answer for a more polite way of asking the answer.
8y-10=-3y%2B2
I would get the numerals away first:
Add 10 to both sides
The subtract 10 is canceled on the left side
8y=-3y%2B2%2B10
I would then get the variables away:
Add 3y to both sides
The subtract 3y is canceled on the right side
8y%2B3y=2%2B10
Simplify:
11y=12
Divide by 11 on both sides
The 11 on the left side is canceled
y+=+12%2F11
