You can put this solution on YOUR website!
slope of -2 and passes through (3,5)
----------------
Form:: y = mx + b
Solve for "b"::
5 = -2*3 + b
b = 5+6 = 11
-----
Equation:
y = -2x + 11

You already DO HAVE the slope of -2 and therefore do not need to "find" it. A slope does not "pass through" a point.

What you really want is the EQUATION for the line which passes through (3,5) and has slope of -2. This you can find simply by plugging into the point-slope equation form:

y-5=-2%28x-3%29

Simplify and put into whatever form you want or need.
