You can put this solution on YOUR website! A cashier has a total of 94 bills, made up of tens and twenties. The total value of the money is $1340. How much of each kind does have?
——————————————————————————
Let t=number of tens
v=number of twenties
t+v = 94 (1)
10t + 20v = 1340 (2)
multiply (1) by 10:
10t + 10v = 940
subtract this from (2):
10t + 20v = 1340
-(10t +10v = 940 )
10v = 400
v = 400/10 = 40 —> t = 94-40 = 54
—
Ans: The cashier has 54 tens and 40 twenties
—
Check: 54*10 + 40*20 = 540 + 800 = 1340
