Plot two points::
If x = 0, y = 1
If x = 4, y = 0
Plot (0,1) and (4,0) and draw a line thru them::

x - y = 5
y = x-5
Plot two points::
If x = 0, y = -5
If x = 5, y = 0
Plot (0,-5) and (5,0) and draw a line thru them:

Note:: I graphed those lines and found the intersection
with my calculator.
Ans:: (4.8,-0.2)
