You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x, students in second most popular country
y, students in most popular country

system%28x%2By=66690%2Cy=x%2B7180%29

x%2B%28x%2B7180%29=66690
2x=66690-7180
2x=595910

system%28x=29755%2Cy=36935%29

find how many students studied abroad in each country.

You are given

A + B = 66690,   (1)
A - B =  7180.   (2)

It is the simplest (THE SIMPLEST !) system of two equations in two unknowns.

When you see susch a system, always add (ADD !) the two equations. You will get

2A = 66690 + 7180 = 73870  --->  A = 73870%2F2 = 36975.

Then from (1), B = 66690-36975 = 29755.

Answer.  36975 and 29755.
