You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
In a particular year, a total of 66,690 students studied in two of the most popular host countries when traveling abroad.
If 7180more students studied in the most popular host country than in the second most popular host country,
find how many students studied abroad in each country.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are given
A + B = 66690, (1)
A - B = 7180. (2)
It is the simplest (THE SIMPLEST !) system of two equations in two unknowns.
When you see susch a system, always add (ADD !) the two equations. You will get
2A = 66690 + 7180 = 73870 ---> A = = 36975.
Then from (1), B = 66690-36975 = 29755.
Answer. 36975 and 29755.
And forget about writing by "josgarithmetic".
