Question 1065394: a box is packed with 12 soda cans (only part of the box is shown which shows: a box with 6 cans) what percentage of the interior of the box is not occupied by the cans? use 3.14159 for π.
Approximately ____% is not occupied by cans.
*I think its using this formula πrh^2
area of 12 can tops: 12πr^2
length of box: 6r
im stuck here and not sure what i do.... Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Part of the problem I am missing. The volume of the box is L*W*H
The volume of each can is pi*r^2 *h, so 12 cans have 12*pi*r^2*h volume.
The volume of the box is 6r*W*H
1-That fraction will give you the answer of how much is not occupied.
