LET (X+8)=THE POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF
FIRST HALF+SECOND HALF=TOTAL GAME POINTS.
X+(X+8)=62
X+X+8=62
2X=62-8

X=54/2
X=27 POINTS SCORED IN THE FIRST HALF
27+8=35 POINTS SCORED IN THE SECOND HALF
