You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two numbers are in the ratio 5:2.
smaller number = 2x ; larger number = 5x
----------------------------------------------------
If 8 is added to the larger number, the ratio of this sum to the smaller number is 3. Find the numbers.
Equation:
(5x+8)/2x = 3
----------------------
5x + 8 = 6x
x = 8
------
Ans:: smaller # = 2x = 16
larger # = 5x = 40
--------------------
