f(t)=-16t^2+16, the -16t^2 being the distance fallen in time t, the 16 being the feet above ground.
Set this equal to 0
-16t^2+16=0
-16t^2=-16
t^2=1
t=1 (only positive root)
It will land on the ground in 1 second.
