Let s be the speed of the plane in still air, and w be the speed of the wind. Then
6704/(s+w)=8
8s+8w=6704
5344/(s-w)=8
8s-8w=5344
Adding the 2nd and 4th equations:
16s=12048
s=753
w=85
The speed of the plane is 753 kph; the wind is 85 kph. ☺☺☺☺
