You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
angela made the trip by bus in 16 hours and the return trip by car in 20 hours.
how long was the trip if the bus traveled 10 miles per hour faster than the car?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let "c" be the speed of car, in mph.
Then the speed of bus is (c+10) mph.
The way "to there" is 16*(c+10) miles long.
The return trip is 20c miles long.
These distances are the same, so you have an equation
16*(c+10) = 20c   ===>  c = 40 mph is the speed of car.
Then the distance is 20*40 = 800 miles.
