You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sold x pounds
0.75 after the first person
(3/4)(4/9) or 1/3 went to the second person.
now there are (3/4)-(1/3)=5/12 of the original
4/5 of that is sold, and that is another 1/3, so now 5/12-4/12=1/12 is left.
That is 10 pounds.
He therefore started with 120 pounds, since 1/12 of 120 is 10. ANSWER
He sold 30 pounds and had 90 left
he sold 40 of those and had 50 left
80% or 40 of those went to the third person and 10 are left.
