You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm and the area is 182 square cm, then what are the dimensions of the rectangle?
--------
P = 2L + 2W = 54
L + W = 27
L*W = 182
---------
Find a pair of factors of 182 with a sum of 27.

If the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm and the area is 182 square cm, then what are the dimensions of the rectangle?
----
54 = 2(L + W)
L*W = 182
---------------------
L + W = 27
L = 27-W
-----
Substitute for "L" and solve for "W"::
(27-W)W = 182
-----
-W^2 + 27W - 182 = 0
-------------------------------
W^2 - 27W + 182 = 0
-------------------------
W = 32.59 (Width)
L = 182/32.59 = 5.58 (Length)
---------------
