Their distances form a right triangle, so using Pythagorean Theorem formula for the distances:

cross%28%282.5x%29%5E2%2B%285x%29%5E2=10%5E2%29


You are right. I misread the description. They went in OPPOSITE directions.

You want this:
2.5x%2B5x=10
