by eliminating solve the pairs of simultaneous equation 6x-5y=-7 3x+4y=16
6x - 5y = - 7 ------ eq (i)
3x + 4y = 16 ------- eq (ii)
You only need to CHANGE 1 equation to solve by ELIMINATION, and that's equation (ii)
- 6x - 8y = - 32 --------- Multiplying eq (ii) by - 2 ------ eq (iii)
- 13y = - 39 ------- Adding eqs (iii) & (i)
y = highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C3%2C+%28-+39%29%2F%28-+13%29%2C+or%2C+3%29%29
Now, just substitute 3 for y in any of the 2 original equations and solve for x
