I was asked (for homework) to solve the following without a calculator.
%280.987%29%5E-3
and
sin(1.5 degrees)
for the first one should I just do
+1%2F%280.987%29+%2A+1%2F%280.987%29+%2A+1%2F%280.987%29
by long hand ? Or do you think they are looking for somthing else?
I have no clue what to do for the second one.
Thanks for any help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You gave your post the category "exponent and logarithm as function of power", so your first expression could be handled through logarithms if you wanted.

0.987%5E%28-3%29
-3%2Along%28%280.987%29%29%29
-3%2A%28-0.0056828%29
antilog%283%2A0.0056828%29
antilog%280.0170485%29
highlight%281.0400%29

Look up your other expression in a table.
