: I need to be able to find the intersection of the 2 lines given the following information.
Line 1: y = 1600 - 300x
Line 2: y = 1400 + 700x
I don't know how to get both y's and both x's to equal without using a graphing calculator and calculating the intersection. i would like to know how to figure this out step by step without a calculator

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In finding the intersections of two lines, we just have to put them into equations.
So:
1600+-+300x+=+1400+%2B+700x
Solving, we have:
200+=+1000x
x+=+1%2F5
THe intersection is at point 1%2F5
THank you.
