You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the smaller no.
thus, x+12 be the larger number.
The sum of the smaller number and twice the larger number is 39.
therefore the eworking equation should be: x+2(x+12)=39 >>> x+2x+24=39 >>>
3x=39-24 >>> 3x=15 >>> x=5
Take note that x is the smaller no. and the bigger no. is x+12 or 5+12 or

Let x = first number
then x + 12 = larger number
x%2B2%28x%2B12%29=39
Solving, we have:
x%2B2x%2B24=39
3x+=+15
x=5
x+%2B+12+=+5+%2B+12+=+17
Therefore, the numbers are 5 and 17, the larger number is 17.
Thank you.

Let x: smaller number
x+12: larger number

Equation: x + 2(x+12) = 39
x + 2x + 24 = 39
3x + 24 = 39
3x = 39 - 24
3x = 15
3x/3 = 15/3
x = 5

Larger number: x + 12
5 + 12
17
