You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) 4x - y = 5
:
2) 4x + 4y = -4
:
solve equation 2) for x
:
divide both sides of = by 4
:
x + y = -1
:
x = -y -1
:
substitute for x in equation 1)
:
4(-y -1) -y = 5
:
-4y -4 -y = 5
:
-5y = 9
:
******************
y = -9/5
x = 9/5 -5/5 = 4/5

Please solve the following problem. Solve the linear system using eliminatioo:

4x-y=5
4x+4y=-4
Thank you.
4x -  y = 5 ------- eq (i)
4x + 4y = - 4 ----- eq (ii)
It is as simple as this:
Subtract one equation from the other to ELIMINATE x, and solve for y
Substitute value of y into any of the 2 original equations to find the value of x.
There you have it. Nothing COMPLEX!!
