You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are probably having trouble reading
log expressions
-----------------
Say you have an expression that begins
with "log", then read it this way:
------------------
This is a log (which is just an exponent ) . The
log is on the other side of the equals sign.
--------------------------------------
What you have next is:
log( the base of the log and the final result )
The log needs a base. Say the base is +b+
and the log is +k+. Now I have:
+b%5Ek+ and this equals something.
Say it equal +x+. Now I can put it all
together as:
+log%28+b%2C+x+%29+=+k+
And, as an exponent:
+b%5Ek+=+x+
Remember the left side of the log
expression is TELLING you that the
right side is a log, or expononent.
------------------------------------------
+log%28+1%2F2%2C+16+%29+=+-4+
+1%2F2+ is the base
+16+ is the result
+-4+ is the log
so I have:
+%281%2F2%29%5E%28-4%29+=+16+
--------------------------
+log%28+5%2C+1%2Fsqrt%285%29+%29+=+-1%2F2+
+5%5E%28-1%2F2%29+=+1%2Fsqrt%285%29+
---------------------------
Just remind yourself when you need to
what the 3 parts of the log expression mean
Hope this helps
