Let l be the length of the lot. Then the width is l-61. So:
l²+(l-61)²=240²
2l²-122l-53879=0
Using the quadratic formula, we get
l=197.442355321 or -136.442355321
Throwing out the negative answer, the parking lot is 197.442 ft. long and 136.442 ft. wide. ☺☺☺☺
