The Length of a rectangle is 8in more then its width
if a is lenght and b is width, then:
a+=+b+%2B+8in
the perimeter is P+=+24in+
P+=+2+%28a%2Bb%29
P+=+2+%28+%28b%2B8in%29%2Bb%29
P+=+2%282b%2B8in%29
P+=+2b+%2B+16in
since P+=+24in, we have:
24in+=+4b+%2B+16in
4b+=+24in+-+16in
4b+=+8in
b+=+2in
then a+=+2in+%2B+8in => a+=+10in
