You can put this solution on YOUR website!
                    SPEED TIME DISTANCE
One way 65 d%2F65 d
The other way 85 d%2F85 d
Total 2%261%2F2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +d+ = distance from Chicago to NYC in miles
Let +t+ = time in hrs for NYC to Chicago
+t+%2B+2.5+ = time in hrs for Chicago to NYC
-------------------------------------------------
Equation for NYC to Chicago:
(1) +d+=+65t+
Equation for Chicago to NYC:
(2) +d+=+85%2A%28+t+%2B+2.5+%29+
----------------------------
This problem makes no sense as stated. It says that
the trip that was made at the higher speed took
longer than the trip made at the slower speed!!!!!!!
----------------
I wrote down the equations, but they will give you nonsense.
I think the problem is either mistyped to begin with, or
down the line.

This formulation is EITHER a nonsense OR a mistake.

This absolutely makes NO SENSE.
A round-trip in which average speed on one leg is GREATER than average speed on the other CAN NEVER take MORE time.
I won't even BOTHER to waste my time on this!
