SOLUTION: I have these two problems that I cant finish:
1) Graph {{{ f(x)= (2x^2)/(x+2) }}}, find the asymptotes and intercepts.
2) Graph {{{ f(x)= (-4)/(x^2+1) }}}, find the asymptotes a

Question 105511: I have these two problems that I cant finish:
1) Graph , find the asymptotes and intercepts.
2) Graph , find the asymptotes and intercepts.
I found the asymptotes and I graphed both of these functions already, but I dont know how to find the x and y intercepts for these two problems. Can someone please help me?? Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assymptotes:
..vertical: x, when denominator is zero. x=-2
..horizontal: there is none because the degree of the numerator is greater than the degree of the denominator.
..y intercept occurs when x=0 f(x)=y=0
..x intercept occurs when y=0 x=0
.
..Horizontal assymptote: Since the degree of the denominator is greater than the numerator the assymptote is the line y=0
..Vertical assymptote: there is none because the denominator never can become negative.
I'll let you calculate the x and y intercepts from what I told you above.
