Question 105511: I have these two problems that I cant finish:
1) Graph +f%28x%29=+%282x%5E2%29%2F%28x%2B2%29+, find the asymptotes and intercepts.
2) Graph +f%28x%29=+%28-4%29%2F%28x%5E2%2B1%29+, find the asymptotes and intercepts.
I found the asymptotes and I graphed both of these functions already, but I dont know how to find the x and y intercepts for these two problems. Can someone please help me??

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+f%28x%29=+%282x%5E2%29%2F%28x%2B2%29+
Assymptotes:
..vertical: x, when denominator is zero. x=-2
..horizontal: there is none because the degree of the numerator is greater than the degree of the denominator.
..y intercept occurs when x=0 f(x)=y=0
..x intercept occurs when y=0 x=0
.
+f%28x%29=+%28-4%29%2F%28x%5E2%2B1%29+
..Horizontal assymptote: Since the degree of the denominator is greater than the numerator the assymptote is the line y=0
..Vertical assymptote: there is none because the denominator never can become negative.
I'll let you calculate the x and y intercepts from what I told you above.
