Ratio of adults to children 12:5 means that for every 12 adults there are 5 children. If you meant children to adults it would mean there are 12 children for every 5 adults
:
153/17 = 9; 9*5 = 45 children
And if you meant 12 children for every 5 adults:
9*12 = 108 children
