Question 1054676: find 4 consecutive integers such that 3 times the first and fourth is 114 less than the product of -5 times the first and second. What are the integers?
This is what we came up with:
3(x+x+3)= -5(x+x+1)+114
3x+3x+9 = -5x-5x-5+114
6x+9 = -10x+109
6x= -10x+100
16x = 100
x = 6.25
