You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A, B & C can do a piece of work in 30,20 & 10 days respectively.
A is assisted by B on one day & by C on the next day alternatively.
How long would the work take to finish ?
:
let t = A's time to do the job with all working as described above
B & C worked half the time,therefore
.5t = time worked by B & C
let the completed job = 1
Each will do a fraction of the job, the 3 fractions add up to 1
:
t%2F30 + %28.5t%29%2F20 + %28.5t%29%2F10 = 1
multiply equation by 300 to cancel the denominators
10t + 15(.5t) + 30(.5t) = 300
10t + 7.5t + 15t = 300
32.5t = 300
t = 90.231 days to complete job
