.
the length of a rectangle is 75 meters less than twice the width the perimeter is 600 meters find the length and width of the rectangle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let W be the width of the rectangle. Then the length is 2W - 75.
The perimeter is
600 = 2W + 2*(2W-75),  or
600 = 2W + 4W - 150,
600 + 150 = 6W,
W = 750%2F6 = 125. Thus we found the width.
Then the length is 2W - 75 = 2*125-75 = 250-75 = 175.
Answer. The length is 175 m. The width is 125 m.
