Suppose the width of the rectangle garden is x.
then the length of the rectangle garden would be (x + 43)
Length = x + 43 feet
Width = x feet
Perimeter = 314 feet.
Perimeter = 2*Length + 2*Width
314 = 2*(x + 43) + 2*x
314 = 2x +86 + 2x
or,
4x + 86 = 314
4x = 314 - 86
4x = 228
x = 228/4
x = 57
Width = 57 feet
Length = width + 43
= 57 + 43
= 100 feet
The solution of the system is 100 feet, 57 feet.
