You can put this solution on YOUR website!
alice and bonnie start running at the same time from the same point and run in the same direction .Alice runs at 8 mph while bonnie runs at a slower pace. after two hours they are 4 miles apart. Determine the speed that bonnie is running
-----
Alice DATA:
rate = 8 mph ; time = 2 hrs ; distance = r*t = 8*2 = 16 miles
----
Bonnie DATA:
rate = x mph ; time = 2hrs ; distance = r*t = 2x miles
---------------------
Equation:
16 miles - 2x miles = 4 miles
2x = 12
x = 6 mph (Bonnie's rate)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
D = rt
r Bonnie's speed
8mph*2hr - r*2hr = 4miles (apart)
16mi-4mi = (2hr)r
12mi/2hr = r = 6mph, Bonnie's speed
And..
16mi - 12mi = 4mi CHECKS!
