You can put this solution on YOUR website!
John and 3 friends are going out for pizza for lunch.
They split one pizza and 4 large drinks. The pizza cost
$13.00. After using a $6.00 gift certificate, they spend
a total of $13.20. Write an equation to model this
situation, and find the cost of one large drink.

Let X = the answer (the cost of one large drink).

13.00 + 4X - 6.00 = 13.20

Combine the 13.00 - 6.00, getting 7.00

        7.00 + 4X = 13.20

Subtract 7.00 from both sides:

        7.00 + 4X = 13.20
       -7.00        -7.00
       ------------------
               4X =  6.00

Divide both sides by 4

               4X%2F4%22%22=%22%22%226.00%22%2F4

                X = $1.50
