You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Which leg is which?
x, a leg
y, other leg
c, hypotenuse

This system will probably give what you want.
system%28y=2%2B2x%2Cc=1%2By%2Cx%5E2%2By%5E2=c%5E2%29

Substitute for y and c in the Pythagorean Theroem formula equation....

On a right triangle one leg is two more than twice the other. The hypotenuse is one more than the longer leg. Find the sides.
Let shorter leg be S
Then longer leg = 2S + 2
Hypotenuse = 2S + 2 + 1, or 2S + 3
We then get: S%5E2+%2B+%282S+%2B+2%29%5E2+=+%282S+%2B+3%29%5E2
Solve for S, the shorter leg
Add 2 to twice the value of S, and you get the longer leg
Add 3 to twice the value of S to get length of hypotenuse
That's all! It's that simple....nothing complex.
