You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Okay, so we all know that the formula for the perimeter of a triangle is the sum of the length of its sides. So Perimeter+=+%28x+%2B+4%29+%2B+4x+%2B+10%28x+-+1%29
Furthermore, it is stated that the perimeter is 24.
So
%28x+%2B+4%29+%2B+4x+%2B+10%28x+-+1%29+=+24
We simplify the equation by distributing 10 to (x - 1).
x+%2B+4+%2B+4x+%2B+10x+-+10+=+24
Now add like terms.
15x+-+6+=+24
Add 6 to both sides.
15x+-+6+%2B+6+=+24+%2B+6
15x+=+30
Now, divide both sides by 15 to get x alone.
15x%2F15+=+30%2F15
x+=+2
There, that's it.
Thank you.
