If a classroom has an area of 432 square feet, and the length is 24 feet, what is the width. I am supposed to write the formula for the area first, and then plug in the given values but I do not understand
Area = length*width
-----
432 = 24*w
----
w = 432/24
----
width = 18 ft

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+A+=+L%2AW+
[ area ] = [ length ] x [ width ]
given:
+A+=+432+ ft2
+L+=+24+ ft
-----------------------
+432+=+24%2AW+
Divide both sides by +24+
+432%2F24+=+W+
+W+=+18+ ft
The width is 18 ft
