This can be drawn out like a right triangle. The 90 degree is at A
Use the tangent of 48 degrees
Side adjacent, AC = 10 m
Side opposite = width of the river (w)
:
Tan(48} = w%2F10
w = 10*1.11
w = 11.1 meters is the width of the river
