Question 1048550: The manager of a used car lot took inventory of the automobiles on his lot and constructed the following table based on the age of his car and its make (foreign or domestic).
Age of Car (in years)
.....Make | 0-2 | 3-5 | 6-10 | over10 | Total
..Foreign | 41 | 27 | 11 | 21 | 100
Domestic | 38 | 24 | 13 | 25 | 100
.......Total | 79 | 51 | 24 | 46 | 200
A car was randomly selected from the lot. Given that the car selected is older than two years old, find the probability that it is not a foreign car.
Can someone show how to solve this? Not just looking for an answer :)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Hi
.....Make | 0-2 | 3-5 | 6-10 | over10 | Total
..Foreign | 41 | 27 | 11 | 21 | 100
Domestic | 38 | 24 | 13 | 25 | 100
Total | 79 | 51 | 24 | 46 | 200
P(Not Foreign|older than 2yrs)
P(A|B) = P(notF and >2)/P(>2) = %28%2824%2B13%2B25%29%2F200%29+%2F+%28%2851%2B24%2B46%29%2F200%29 = 62/121
Always check the arithmetic
