Question 1046872: Triangle AMY has coordinates A(0,0), M(4,0), and Y (2, 2 times Square root of 3). Find the perimeter of this triangle. State the exact length.
**I believe that I will find the length of each side and then add them all together to get the perimeter. I know how to find the length with regular coordinates but the coordinate for Y is throwing me off (I'm not sure how to add and subtract with it) and I cannot seem to get the correct answer.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Triangle AMY has coordinates A(0,0), M(4,0), and Y (2, 2 times Square root of 3). Find the perimeter of this triangle. State the exact length.

======
AY = sqrt[(2-0)^2+(2sqrt(3)-0)^2] = sqrt[4+4*3] = sqrt[16] = 4
------
MY = sqrt[(2-4)^2+(2sqrt(3)-0)^2] = sqrt[4+4*3] = sqrt[16] = 4
