You can put this solution on YOUR website!
                 SPEED TIME DISTANCE
BIKE 12
WALK 2
Totals 9 48

Uniform Rates for Travel, RT=D for relating rate, time, distance.
Know what to do?

                 SPEED TIME DISTANCE
BIKE 12 x 12x
WALK 2 y 2y
Totals 9 48

How about now?

Kylie started biking to the restaurant traveling 12 mph, after some time the bike got a flat so Kylie walked the rest of the way, traveling 2 mph. If the total trip to the restaurant took 9 hours and it was 48 miles away, how long did Kylie travel at each speed?
_________ hours at 12 mph

_________ hours at 2 mph
Let time at 12 mph be T
Then time at 2 mph = 9 - T
WSe then get the following DISTANCE equation: 12T + 2(9 - T) = 48
12T + 18 - 2T = 48
10T = 30
T, or time at 12 mph = 30%2F10, or highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C2%2C+3%2C+hours%29%29
You should be able to find the time, @ 2 mph.
