You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
What is the equation of the locus of the point which moves so that its distance from point (2,0) is 2/3 its distance from the line y=5?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
sqrt%28%28x-2%29%5E2%2By%5E2%29 = %282%2F3%29%2Aabs%28y-5%29.   <--- This is the basic equation which translates the input into mathematical form.
The left side is the distance from the point (x,y) of the locus to the point (2,0).
The right side is 2%2F3 of the distance from the point (x,y) of the locus to the line y=5.
Next you can simplify this equation and reduce it to the standard equation of a certain conic section.
This conic section is an ellipse.
But since the condition do not require me explicitly to do it, I will stop at this point.
