This is a proportion problem:
18 km/2 hours=x km/6 hours. Keep the units in the same relationship on both sides
Cross-multiply
6*18=2*x
2x=108
x=54 km.
---------------
18 km in 2 hours is 9 km per hour
9 km/hr*6 hrs.=54 km.

If something travels units of distance in units of time, then the speed, , is distance units per time unit. The distance traveled at distance units per time unit for time units is given by distance units.
