Question 1044283: How do I set up this word problem using proportions?
A carpenter can install six windows in five hours. How long would it take her to install eight windows? Use proportion to solve and round to your answer to the nearest tenth.
I took 5 hours and divided by 6 windows to figure how much time per window was needed. Then I took .8 (.833 rounded to nearest tenth) and multiplied that to the 8 windows. Final answer was 6.4 hrs. How do I set this up using proportions?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Work rate stays the same, and this is how you create the proportion.

Unit of rate is WINDOWS%2FHOURS.
Let h stand for number of the unknown hours.

The two ratios are %286%2F5%29%28windows%2Fhours%29 and %288%2Fh%29%28windows%2Fhours%29.
