:
1/(x+6) + 1/x = 1/4
:
multiply both sides of = by common denominator (x+6)*4*x
:
4x + 4(x+6) = x(x+6)
:
4x + 4x+24 = x^2 + 6x
:
x^2 -2x -24 = 0
:
(x-6) * (x+4) = 0
:
x = 6 or -4
:
