You can put this solution on YOUR website!

A painter has to paint the walls and ceiling of a room. He calculates that he will require 4 litres of paint. The paint is sold as follows:
1 litre costs $24.
2 litres cost twice as much as 1 litre less 25%,
2 litres costs 0.75(2*24) = 0.75(48) = $36
----------------------------------------------------------------
4 litres cost twice as much as 2 litres less 25%.
4 litres costs 0.75(2*36) = $54
---------------------------------
How much is the paint going to cost him?:: $54
-------------
