You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let the two consecutive even integers be x and x+2
From the problem description, you can write:
3(x+2) = x-10 Simplify and solve for x.
3x+6 = x-10 Subtract x from both sides.
2x+6 = -10 Subtract 6 from both sides.
2x = -16 Divide both sides by 2.
x = -8 and
x+2 = -6
The two integers are: -8 and -6
